Cardiotocography

Cardiotocography, or KTG examination is one of the basic examinations in obstetrics.

The examination allows monitoring of the fetal heart rate in the last weeks of pregnancy and the contraction activity of the uterus.

It is performed at the earliest in the 25th week of pregnancy, but most often when the due date is approaching. After that it is recommended every 2-3 days until delivery. If the pregnancy is at risk or there are other indications, the examination may be performed more frequently.

The ultrasound examination is also performed when the pregnant woman does not feel any movements of the baby or the movments feel weak.
