Cervical electroconization / LEEP /
Cervical electroconization / LEEP / is performed in women with abnormal Pap smear or colposcopy results. The procedure consists in collecting the material necessary for further diagnostics- using an electrosurgical loop, under the action of a low-voltage current. If there is abnormal tissue on the cervix, the procedure makes it possible to remove it. The resulting material is transferred by the doctor for histopathological examination. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, under local anesthesia.
